Aequivalent releases a new digital marketplace

Today Aequivalent has released a new digital marketplace for pre- and in-employment background checks as an addition to its current offering.

Aequivalent is Switzerland’s leading platform for employment screening. The company provides a digital platform and a service that enables employers to request an independent and objective verification of their candidates’ background and credentials.

With the new “do-it-yourself” digital marketplace, employers will now also have the possibility to execute specific verifications autonomously. Aequivalent’s clients can, for example, verify the authenticity of an identity document, make sure that a person is not listed on any public surveillance list or do a quick check regarding the financial probity of a candidate. In compliance with FADP and GDPR requirements, candidates and employees are informed about these verifications and all data is permanently deleted no later than 90 days after the issuance of the verification result.

The new marketplace is organised as a flexible “do-it-yourself” service and currently provides a limited number of checks, for now in a beta version. Aequivalent intends to extend its offering rapidly in the coming 12 to 24 months. Aequivalent will open its platform for third-party providers that offer specialised verifications, and work with its clients to prioritize the activation of new checks. As an example, the company has started to work with employers that require medical pre- and in-employment checks.

As a reminder, within Aequivalent’s traditional service, all candidate credentials and documents are verified by Aequivalent, checked on consistency and summarised in a report. Clients can simply follow the verification progress on the platform and have access to a complete, digital dossier as well as the details of the verification results, whereas candidates receive the assistance of the Aequivalent team to optimise their experience.

Many employers have standardised background check procedures in their recruitment processes in order to make sure that their employee dossiers are fully documented and verified, and in line with modern HR compliance, industry or risk management standards.

The Aequivalent platform can be integrated with most of the existing HR platforms via an API technology. Data protection and information security is a key strength of the platform, which is regularly audited and certified to ISO 27001 standard.
